Imagine - Getting home from a long day at work, getting into your pyjamas, and cosying up in front of the TV with your family and a hot beverage! It’s perfection.

Do you need some Christmas film motivation? Here are our top 10 favourite films for this festive season!

1. Home Alone (1990)

The film that begun Macauley Culkin’s career, this family favourite shows a kid left home alone in the Christmas holidays who is threatened by greedy burglars. With no adults to help, little Kevin Mcallister has to protect his home and defeat those burglars using some pranky traps. This hilarious film is a classic, and you can also enjoy Home Alone, 2,3 & 4 afterwards - Have a marathon!

2. How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

I think a lot of us can relate to the Grinch on some sort of level - an emotionless, sassy and unsociable character that talks to our dog, eats and crawls back into their cave after spending a long day interacting with human beings! The classic Dr Seuss story comes to life with such humour and rhyme in this amazing film, a must watch for Christmas time! 

Also, in 2018 an animated version of the Grinch has been released into cinemas. With a different storyline and a different actor, do you think it will be just as good as the original? Let us know!

3. White Christmas (1954)

A complete tradition in Christmas time is to watch White Christmas, this musical sees a talented music group team up with two sisters to help their former military commander save his lodge. An emotional film that reminds you about the gift of giving this festive time. Enjoy!

4. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

One of the most favourite versions of the Christmas Carol story that is out there. Our favourite team of puppets recreating the classic Charles Dickens’ favourite. It’s hilarious, emotional, and overall a great film this festive time for the whole family.

5. Love Actually (2003)

Following the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives during Christmas time - with different emotions, this film boasts various interrelated love tales based in London and it is definitely worth a watch.

6 The Holiday (2006)

Dumped and Depressed, English Iris and Californian Amanda swap homes for the Christmas holidays in hope for a break from their current world. During their holiday, Iris is welcomed with a gorgeous Hollywood mansion whilst Amanda is cut off from the American world in a beautiful little English village. The lovelorn ladies eventually meet two local lads, which is where the love story starts! This romantic, funny Christmas film is perfect for a romantic or girls night in!

7 Elf (2003)

Probably known as one of the funniest Christmas films of all time, Will Ferrel stars a human raised a Christmas-obsessed elf who finally meets his real-life dad in New York City. This film is guaranteed to get your Christmas spirit up and tummy hurting from all of the laughings that it will cause.

8 Polar Express (2004)

This animated film encourages the strength of children’s Christmas spirit and belief as hundreds of children escape the real world and hop onto the Polar Express for the night. A brilliant film to watch with the kids!

9 Jingle All The Way 2 (2014)

We hate to say it - but Jingle All The Way 2 is much better than the original. Featuring Larry the Cable Guy, Larry’s daughter only wants one thing for Christmas, this talking bear. But the limited stock and her annoying stepdad intend to make sure Larry can’t get one. It’s a hilarious, heartfelt film and we can’t wait to watch it.

10 The Holiday Calendar (2018)

Found on Netflix, this new film consists of an ambitious photographer who inherits an antique Advent Calendar that seems to predict her future using little ornaments. This film is lovely for a cosy night in with the family, as you experience this romantic Christmas story.
